Mohasthangarh is one of the main attractions of North Bengal as well as Bangladesh. It has a ancient archeological and historical Background. It is established in 2500 BC. It is situated on the bank of the river Karatoa and also north of the Bogra town besides Bogra Rangpur road. It has a big area. It is about 5000ft by 4500ft with an average height of 15ft.
A visit to Mohasthangarh site Museum will open up for everyone wide variety of antiquities, ranging from terracotta objects to gold ornaments and coins recovered from the site. Now Bangladesh archeological Department considers it as a major tourist spots maintained.
It is just 10 km away from Bogra town. Mohasthan Boddhist stambo is another attraction for the tourist ; it is locally called as Behula’s Basar ghar.

Puthia

Puthia is one of the main attractions of Rajshahi Division. It is about eighteen miles east of the Rajshahi city. It is actually a large state or village. At the entrance to the village there is a large white stucco temple dedicated to Shiva. It is situated in 1823. Another beauty is the Govinda Temple. It belongs to the Hindu God Krishna. It is very well decorated.
At the back of the Place there is another delightful palace named Miniature temple. It is like the Bengali bamboo hut but built of brick. Another important is the Jagaddhatri Temple that is decorated to the Hindu Goddess Durga. This Temple is designed with the combination of the Bangla style and Chau-chala style.

Varendra Research Museum

The Varendra Research Museum is one of the oldest museums in this subcontinent situated in the central point of Rajshahi. It is a very rich Museum with is collection. It’s collections are very related with Mohenjodoro and of 16th to 19th century A.D. It is known as a research Museum and the first one in Bangladesh. The collections of this museum are related to Past Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim Heritage. Its library contains 22000 printed books and journals and 6000 manuscripts in Bangali, Sanskrit, Arabic and Persian language. It is situated in 1910 AD.

Paharpur Buddhist Monastery

Paharpur Buddhist Monastery is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Bangladesh. It is one of the main attractions of North Bengal. It is a small village five kilometers far the Jamalgonj in the Rajshahi district. We can also go to Paharpur from Joypurhat district. It is only 10 km far from Joypurhat.
King dharma Pal established Paharpur Buddhist Monastery in the 17th century. It is the most important and largest one. The main Mandir is in the central of the Monastery. The total area of this Monastery was about 27 acres of land at that time. The architecture of the pyramidal cruciform temple is influenced by the South East Asia especially Myanmar and Java.
There is also a small site Museum. It was built in 1956-57. It has a rare collection of objects enrolled from the area. There are also the statues of Buddha and Vishnu.
